Meet Wind Haven's Founders

We know that all things work together for the good of those who love God, who are called according to his purpose.

Pastor Stacey McEntyre, VPO

I’m Stacey McEntyre…

I was born and raised in Virginia Beach, VA, and I lived in Georgia where I met my wife Sarah Grace, who was from Indiana. Georgia brought us together, and through that Wind Haven was born.

At Wind Haven, we welcome folks from all walks of life, because healing through faith isn’t just a nice idea—it’s real, and it’s possible. I’m not your typical “suit-and-tie” guy. Sure, I can clean up when I need to, but at heart, I’m just a regular man who’s been through the wringer. My education? The school of hard knocks, sharpened by hard work and the call of ministry. My experience? Lived it, stumbled through it, and by God’s grace—overcame it.

I know what it’s like to come out of dysfunction and wrestle with toxic relationships. I’ve walked through fire, learned the hard lessons, and come out stronger. No fairy tale—just real-life redemption.

When I met Sarah Grace in 2019, we were both walking our own healing journeys. It wasn’t instant perfection. It took patience, faith, and hard work to build something solid. In 2024, we made it official—proof that love and healing can rewrite even the most complicated stories.

As Chief of Operations, my role is to keep Wind Haven steady and secure. In a family-run nonprofit, that means handling the day-to-day work that keeps our mission moving forward—whether it’s running logistics, managing the details, or showing up in ministry where people need it most. My loyalty, protective spirit, and grounded faith help create a safe space where survivors feel supported and understood.

I’m living proof that no matter how broken life feels, restoration isn’t just possible—it’s waiting.

Pastor Stacey McEntyre, VPO

I'm Sarah Yoder-McEntyre...

I’m an Indiana native — born at Ball Memorial, raised in Selma, and a Cowan grad. I’m also the founder of Wind Haven, a small, family-run nonprofit that began in Georgia during the pandemic.

We saw survivors of domestic violence trapped in their homes with abusers, and we realized: leaving isn’t simple when housing instability, financial abuse, and homelessness keep people stuck.

Wind Haven started with recovery resources, but our mission has grown. We now focus on breaking cycles of abuse through what we call the OIDR Healing Trinity — addressing physical, mental, and spiritual health together. My own healing journey from fibromyalgia, worsened by hidden mold in my home, taught me this: even in toxic environments, healing is possible when you observe, identify, dispute, and replace what’s harming you.

That’s our vision: to replace systems of neglect — like slumlords and corporate property mismanagement — with a nonprofit property stewardship model that creates safe, healthy communities.

Wind Haven exists to help people become more than conquerors — Overcomers. And I’m here to partner with churches and ministries to make that vision a reality.

Historic Co-Founder:
Steph Elizabeth

At Wind Haven, we believe healing isn’t just possible—it’s transformative. As a Historic Co-Founder, Stephann Elizabeth Parizek was instrumental in shaping that vision during the foundation’s earliest days.

A military brat, former Army wife, and dedicated mom of two, Steph’s lived experience as a survivor of domestic violence and generational trauma deeply informed her work. During one of the most volatile seasons of her life—navigating health challenges, single parenthood, and the isolation of the COVID-19 pandemic—Steph fled a volatile domestic violence situation across state lines. She helped lay the groundwork for what Wind Haven would become.

Steph was a vital voice in the development of the OIDR Healing Trinity—Observe, Identify, Dispute, Replace—our trauma-informed, faith-rooted recovery model. Her contributions helped us center the lived realities of survivors in everything from curriculum development to community support. Her early influence is embedded in Wind Haven’s DNA.

We Are Wind Haven

Who We Are

At Wind Haven, we’re more than advocates—we’re a sanctuary of healing, clarity, and restoration. We’re a grassroots, family-run nonprofit helping survivors of abuse break free from toxic cycles and build safe, healthy communities—by addressing not only interpersonal abuse but the systemic oppression embedded in unsafe housing, unjust policies, and economic hardship.

Domestic violence is rarely just bruises and broken bones. Financial abuse, housing instability, and homelessness can keep survivors trapped long after escaping an abuser. That’s why our mission has grown—from educational resources for abuse recovery to pioneering holistic solutions in housing, financial independence, and trauma-informed care.

Our Mission

Wind Haven exists to provide refuge, recovery, and renewal for individuals and families overcoming domestic abuse in all its forms. Through survivor-led, trauma-informed initiatives—both virtual and local—we guide Overcomers on a transformational journey: recognizing abuse, reclaiming identity, and rebuilding lives with faith, safety, and purpose.

We are redefining recovery by tackling the roots that keep people stuck. Our nonprofit housing stewardship model replaces unsafe, exploitative systems with communities built on health, safety, and dignity. Combined with our virtual Overcomer Reforge program and the OIDR Healing Trinity, we empower survivors to transform cycles of abuse into legacies of healing, justice, and leadership.

Our Vision

We envision a world where every survivor can break free from abuse and step boldly into healing, and where Wind Haven partners with communities, businesses, and ministries to revitalize neighborhoods and create safe, thriving environments for all. By blending trauma-informed care with holistic practices, we aim to multiply our impact across the country—one survivor, one neighborhood, and one community at a time—proving that transformation is possible when we rise together as one body.

Our Values

Aligned with the OIDR method, our values guide everything we do:

Growing People Bloom (Observe) – Healing starts with seeing clearly. Awareness and truth awaken the foundation for transformation.

Healed People Inspire (Identify) – Confronting past wounds brings clarity and purpose. Our growth becomes a testimony that ignites hope.

Radiant Hearts Connect (Dispute) – Connection strengthens restoration. Breaking isolation and challenging falsehoods fosters trust, love, and unity.

Cultivated Community (Replace) – Wholeness is more than survival—it’s creating something new. Restoration shapes communities of safety, purpose, and abundance.

Inspired by Psalm 147:3, we empower survivors to reclaim peace, security, and joy—whether rebuilding tangible lives or mending broken spirits. At Wind Haven, our mission, vision, and values aren’t just words—they’re a promise: to break cycles, ignite hope, and cultivate a future where every heart can truly bloom.
